38年来の友人夫婦。
キャセイで出会ったフラットメイト
Friends for 38 years.
We met as flatmates at Cathay Pacific

家族のいない香港で、
ひとりで暮らしていた私たちにとって、
キャセイの仲間は“もうひとつの家族”でした。

2019年にイギリスで会って以来、
なかなか会えていないけれど、
いつ会っても変わらない関係。

今回、熊本に一時帰国中に
「サワードウ送ってほしい」と連絡が。

イギリスにもサワードウはあるけれど、
「MaWaRaのパンを家族に食べさせたい」って。

遠く離れていても、
こうしてつながっていることが嬉しい。

パンは、人と人をつなぐもの。

自然と、ととのう。

Living alone in Hong Kong, far from our families,
our Cathay friends became like a second family.

We haven’t seen each other since 2019 in the UK,
but somehow, nothing ever changes.

This time, while they are back in Kumamoto,
they asked me,
“Can you send your sourdough?”

Of course there’s sourdough in the UK—
but they said,
“We want our family to taste your bread.”

Even from far away,
we’re still connected.

Sourdough brings people together.

Naturally, in balance.
